Bizhan Bassiri
Bizhan Bassiri is an Iranian Postwar & Contemporary artist and poet who
was born in 1954. He moved to Rome in 1975 and lived in both Rome and
Tehran. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and started working professionally in 1981 by holding personal exhibitions in addition to
participating in collective ones.
His artistic journey begins with him experimenting with various materials,
such as surfaces of paper mache, steel and bronze, and lava elements. He
has a long list of exhibitions, concerts, events and books and exhibition
catalogs, and even videos in his resume, therefore, it is not possible to list
them all, and numerous key galleries and museums such as Lower Belvedere
have featured Bizhan Bassiri’s work in the past.
